The steel cutting of this newbuilding with Hull No. HCY-71 "MCP LINZ", same type of vessel as "MCP VIENNA" and MCP "SALZBURG" took place at Shandong Huanghai Shipbuilding Co. Ltd in Shidao, China on 06th July, 2007.

The keel was successfully laid on 18th December, 2007.
The Naming Ceremony was held on 04th April, 2008 and the launching took place on 23rd May, 2008.
