Österreichischer Lloyd ‘now an owner’

ÖL has revealed that it no longer wishes to be considered in the first instance as a third party shipmanager following its strong and steady evolution into a healthy shipowning entity.

Consequently, with the effect of 02nd July, 2008, the name of the company was changed to

Österreichischer Lloyd Seereederei

With effect of 26th November, 2008 all shares of Österreichischer Lloyd Seereederei were transferred to Capt. Eberhard Koch's Holding in Vienna.
Under now single leadership of Capt. Eberhard Koch, a fleet of 12 modern multipurpose and container vessels will be managed with an average age of 5.8 years.
Mag. Hans-Georg Wurmböck concentrates now on ship-owning only and remains as an adviser to the company.

The Austria & Cyprus based companies have seen a robust increase in their shipowning activity in the last two years and for their size, have had a complimenting proud order book afloat.

ÖL’s policy is to recruit crew via its part owned crewing company MED CREW LTD., Malta.
Quality management demands qualified crew. All our officers and ratings are highly experienced, properly trained and in possession of all necessary national and international licenses and certificates. We take great care in selecting our crew, the majority of whom have long service records within our fleet.

For the smooth running of the ships, the quality of the personnel is the decisive factor and as a consequence, the standard of the ship. To the latter, our particular attention has been drawn.
